How does Reacts differ from video conferencing platforms like Skype, Webex, etc?
It differs in many ways!
The primary purpose of Reacts is to provide users with a unique way to remotely and securely interact, teach, assist and supervise. It integrates innovative functionalities such as multi-feed streaming, augmented reality and real-time image overlay. Reacts combines tools enabling file sharing/transfer, skills assessment through checklists and reports, thereby better standardizing and documenting virtual meetings. Reacts does a lot more than simple videoconferencing: Reacts is hyperpresence.
Do I need to have special equipment to use Reacts (other than the basic webcam, microphone and speakers/headphones)?
No.
Just make sure that your computer or tablet meet the minimum technical requirements. You will need a webcam, a microphone, and speakers (or headphones). We recommend you use a commercially available HD webcam for better video quality. Note that if you want to stream video output from external devices into Reacts (DVD, medical device, monitor, etc.) you will need to purchase a video converter (different types are commercially available).
Is Reacts difficult to use and how long does it take to become comfortable with its functionalities?
Despite the fact that Reacts has many functionalities, it is easy and intuitive to use. What is strongly recommended is for you to go through the various online tutorials that explain in details and step by step how to use the various functionalities of the platform.
You should be fairly comfortable with the platform right after your first session!
How much bandwidth does Reacts take?
Reacts require a minimum bandwidth of 0.5 Mbps. for the broadcast of a single video signal (2 Mbps optimal). For each additional camera added to a session, an additional 0.5 Mbps (minimal) to 1 Mbps (optimal) is required. Additional bandwidth is required when several functions are used at the same time (i.e. file transfer, screen sharing, etc.). In limited bandwidth situation, you should therefore try to limit the number of cameras connected and the number of concomitant functionalities used.
Note that Reacts gives you the ability to manage bandwidth during the session (ie: you can hide your webcam(s) during a session to optimize bandwidth to other functionalities).

In situations where you have good bandwidth (high-speed internet connection), you will be able to use multi-feed streaming, file sharing, file transfer, etc, without any drop in performance.
Is there a free version of Reacts available?
Yes.
A 14-day free trial is available and provides access to all functionalities. It also allows you to download Reacts on multiple devices and different platforms. Note that you can invite as many people as you want to join you on Reacts. Once you are logged in Reacts, go to the section « Contacts » and click on « Send an invitation to join Reacts ». This will send an invitation to your contacts and allow them to register and download the application for free (14-day trial). You will then be ready to have a Reacts session with them in no time!
Can I invite friends and colleagues to join Reacts for free so that I can connect with them?
Yes.

Is Reacts a secure platform?
Yes.
One of the main characteristic of Reacts is its very robust security architecture. Reacts was developed initially for the healthcare environment. We therefore needed to implement the strictest security standards. All connections are tunneled and encrypted using TLS 1.0 or higher. We are using peer-to-peer (P2P) session control (signaling) for multimedia interaction using Secured Websockets and the jingle library. We have a strong password policy.

Can Reacts be used on a cellular connection?
Yes.
You can use a cellular connection (3G, 4G, LTE) to have a Reacts session. The performance will be proportional to the bandwidth available.
Can I purchase Reacts on a monthly basis?
No.
The Reacts license is valid for 12 months and is paid as one-time, annual fee upon registration.
Is the Reacts platform available in different languages?
Yes.

How many people can I have in a Reacts session?
The current version of Reacts allows a connection between two users only.
However, each user can use multiple video inputs (multi-feed streaming) during a session. In 2016, an updated version of Reacts will include the possibility of multiparty connections, that is, a user will be able to establish a connection with multiple users in the same Reacts session.
Stay tuned!

No.

You will be able to personalize your Reacts account and will more than likely include various pictures, videos, files, etc, in your Reacts library. All information and media added to your account are encrypted on the Reacts servers.

Your Reacts access cannot be used on two devices at the same time. If you are already logged in on a device and try to log on a different device, the system will give you the choice to either « Force log out » or « Cancel ». It will therefore be impossible for you to use the same credentials to log to two different devices.
